Clinique – Bottom Lash Mascara

images

The Bottom Lash Mascara has a tiny brush and to be honest, it is very cute.

I was so happy to get it in my makeup bag, at first…

Then, you realize this is more a gadget than a must-have and I am personally not keen on gadget in makeup. for several reasons:

– less is more

– the price: you can save for must have products

– it is only about marketing

– you never making use of it at the end

For these reasons, I would not recommend the Bottom Lash Mascara.

My everyday Makeup routine

IMG_0002

IMG_0001

I’ve been really into makeup since last year, when approaching my big 3.0 and also with the help of Youtubers and makeup gurus like Lisa Eldridge and Michelle Phan.

So my routine is quite simple.

– Foundation: I’ve never wear any foundation before, and I include tinted moisturizers in this category. Until I’ve discovered the ones with new kinda generation of foundation: as light as you you were not wearing anything, water-base products. My favorite foundation is the Chanel Vitalumière Aqua (B40) and I use a tiny bit of it. The shade is perfect for me and the finish is semi-matte. Really love it.

– Powder: I’m using the Mac Studio Fix in NC40. It falls into the foundation category but I have it before and never really used it until I heard Goss Wayne (Gossmakeupartist). Then I understood the power of this powder. I sometimes use it as a stand alone product for my base and just skip the liquid foundation. And I hit pan. For the price and the quality, it is just perfect. But maybe my next powder will be the Select sheer powder which gives less coverage and more sheer.

– Eyes: The Caviar stick from Laura Mercier in Khaki. Woaw! The stain power, the finish, the quality (soooo blendable). I want the other shades: Cocoa, Amethyst… Your eyes can be subtil or you can build up until you have a smoky eyes look in 5 seconds.

– Blush: At the moment, I’m using the Lancome Blush Subtil in Melba (30). Such a nice color, maybe more for sprintime and summertime but who cares? I can also use the white part as a highlighter. I like ti apply is on the apples of my cheeks and up to the temples.

– Eyelashes: Combo Eyelashes + Mascara is a must. Impossible to skip this step. I know the Shu Uemura one is THE best but mine is a Sephora and does the job quite well. For mascara, I loooove the MaxFactor False lash effect in Black. Basically, I’m not complicated about mascara and have quite long eyelashes. I mainly seek for volume. I hate mascara that transfers to the bottom of your eyes during the days (Maybelline the Rocket, Lancôme Hypnose Doll eyes…) or spidery effect (Benefit They’re real, which, I don’t know about you but it irrritates my eyes,…). This one is affordable and gives long and voluminous eyelashes. The high end one I like is the YSL Baby Doll.

– Lips: A basic nude lip pencil from Jean-Claude Biguine. It is matte, no transfer, the color is my shade but better. As you can see, the pencil has been used a lot and the size is quite reduced… Otherwise, I also love Mac Lipstick, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine, Rimmel Kate Moss mat lipstick. Even if the price ranges are different, they remain affordable and very good quality (if not the best).

Then, I’m good to go!

Have a nice day!

Embryolisse – Back to Basics

Embryolisse Lait crème Concentré – Back to Basics

Cult, must have, multi-purpose, affordable, simple, nice basic product.

This is my all-time favorite face moisturizing lotion for day and night. It does perfectly the job, simple but efficient, made with products such as: aloe vera, karit

The texture is milky-creamy, because it is quite fluid, it is quickly absorbed and does not stay shining on the skin.

It is also a good makeup base and can be used as a makeup remover. So just perfect when you travel a lot!

It is also a saviour product as it relieves irritation you may have on the skin as it contains many natural ingredients such as Shea butter, Aloe vera, Soy proteins.

Besides, it is paraben free and not tested on animals.

Makeup artists use this product in shows’ backstage on models and it is a cult product of many celebrities (Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Karlie Kloss…)

You can have it for 10€ in French pharmacies.

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish – Soft and Gentle

IMG_2409[1]

What is it? a Mineral powder from MAC

What is the color? a rosy peach champagne & bronze, very nice.

What is it for? It is a highlighter to accentuate your features and get a reflective dewy look

Where to apply? On the cheekbones, temples, the eyes (inner corner and brow bone) and the Cupid’s bow

Do I really need it? For beauty addicts, it is a MUST and to me, the most affordable and nicest highlighter. But for everyday makeup for people in a hurry, you can skip this part which is not a basic step.

I would not recommend to apply it all over the face in order to avoid the Disco ball effect.

Candles Cire TRUDON

IMG_1836[1]

Since 1643!

Let me introduce you to my precious perfumed candle and its original glass dome.

Since the 17th century, the Trudon company supplied King Louis XV, the French Court, the most important churches and also Versailles and was the was producer of Napoleon during the Empire.

The scents are unique and subtil. They last very long and they are the only ones I know that does not irritate those who may have sensitive eyes. My all-time favorites and cult candles. One candle immediately change the landscape and the ambient smell of your house. No Joke!

I have already used Manon, Trianon, Calabre, Odalisque and Solis Rex for years now. Can’t wait to get a new one.

They are pricy but really worth it. And you know what? I have recycled them as makeup Brushes holders as they are so nice.

More information on their official site: http://www.ciretrudon.com/

And I’ve just noticed that you can newly find them on the Cult beauty site and e-shop! http://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/

Cult product, I told you!
